Creek Indian War of 1836

Francis Gillespie CULPEPPER (1804), father-in-law of John EDGAR (1819), served as a private in the company

commanded by Captain Slaughter in the regiment of Cavalry commanded by Col. R.T. Webb in the Creek Indian War of

1836. He enlisted at Lafayette Courthouse, AL on or about 17 May 1836, and was honorably discharged at Fort Henderson,

AL on 18 Nov 1836.
